Welcome to Punishment! practice of imposing something

Punishment is the practice of imposing something unpleasant on a subject as a response to some unwanted or immoral behavior or disobedience that the subject has displayed. It is common and essential in human affairs, since reinforcement alone is not likely to reduce many undesirable behaviors, but it is frequently applied in ways that make it unsuccessful. such as payday loans and the like.
Punishment tends to be most effective when it is accompanied by reasoning even in 2- and 3-year-olds and when the person being punished is also reinforced for an alternative, acceptable behavior. Explaining helps a child correctly connect an action with a punishment. Having other positively reinforced behaviors to draw on allows the child to generate alternative responses. The child who is beaten typically learns a much deeper lesson: that problems can be solved with violence. The more physical punishment parents use, the more aggressively their children tend to behave at home and at school. There is no evidence that the use of belts or paddles increases the painful effects of a hit with the hand of an adult who usually outweighs a child by a factor of at least 3 or 4. If parents who use such devices aim to teach their children self-control, they would do better to learn it themselves, since beating children tends to make them more likely as adults to have less self-control, lower self-esteem, more troubled relationships, and more depression and to be more likely to abuse their own children and spouses.   A better form might be to cancel that trtip to www.batemansbay.com.au or a special treat.
